MyLife Privacy Policy

Effective September 6, 2026.

MyLife is a journal that writes itself. Because it can listen to your day, this policy is written to be read, not skimmed. The short version: everything stays on your phone.

1. Who we are

MyLife is published by Deon Menezes ("we", "us"). Questions: privacy@mylife.app. Support: support@mylife.app.

2. What MyLife collects

Nothing is sent to us. MyLife has no account, no sign-in and no server. We do not receive your recordings, transcripts, notes, photos, summaries, questions or settings, and we do not collect analytics, crash reports or identifiers. We cannot see what is in your journal, and we could not hand it over if asked, because we do not have it.

3. What MyLife stores on your phone

All of this lives in the app's private storage on your device and is protected by your device passcode and iOS data protection. If you use iCloud device backup, it is included in your encrypted backup the same way as other app data.

4. Recording modes and other people

You choose how MyLife listens: Off for life (the microphone is never opened automatically), Minimal (only when you tap Record) or Always On (continuously, until you pause or stop). Recording state is always visible in the app, and iOS shows its own microphone indicator.

Always On can capture other people's voices. Laws on recording conversations vary; many places require everyone's consent. You are responsible for telling people and for pausing when asked. "Forget the last 10, 30 or 60 minutes" deletes the audio, transcript and index for that span immediately.

5. Permissions

6. Your rights and controls

7. Children

MyLife is for adults 18 and over.

8. Changes

If a future version sends data anywhere (for example an optional sync service), this policy will change first, the app will tell you, and the feature will be off until you turn it on.
