These Terms are an agreement between you and Deon Menezes ("MyLife", "we") about the MyLife app. By using the app you agree to them and to the Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 18 years old. The app can record conversations with other people, which carries legal responsibilities.
MyLife is a personal journal. Optionally, and only if you choose, it listens through your phone's microphone, transcribes speech on the device, writes each day as an article, and lets you search and ask questions about your own entries. Three recording modes exist: Off for life, Minimal and Always On. Off means the app never opens the microphone on its own. You can pause or stop at any time.
AI drafts; you decide. Every transcript and summary can be edited, moved or deleted by you. Transcription and summaries are automatic and can be wrong; check anything that matters.
You are the recording party. You are solely responsible for complying with every law that applies to recording, storing and transcribing conversations where you are, including consent, wiretap, eavesdropping and data-protection laws. Obtain consent or give notice where required, stop when asked, and do not record where recording is prohibited. You may not use MyLife to secretly record, monitor or surveil anyone.
Your journal is yours. We claim no rights in it and, because it never leaves your phone, we never have access to it. You are responsible for keeping your device secure and backed up; we cannot recover a journal from a lost or wiped phone.
MyLife is a journal, not a medical, therapeutic or mental-health product, and provides no advice of any kind.
MyLife uses Whisper (MIT, OpenAI), whisper.cpp and whisper.rn (MIT), Silero VAD (MIT) and other open-source software listed in the app. Their licenses apply to those components.
The app is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, and our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app and is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms.
We may update these Terms; material changes will be shown in the app before they apply. Contact: support@mylife.app.
